does anyone know what the effects of using a synthetic weed and feed liquid fertilizer on a totally organic lawn will be and how long does this last

Hi Theo. I'm not sure how long the application will affect your yard. You might check the package label and see if there are any clues as to how long the weed-killing effects last: maybe it says not to use it around newly planted areas or areas to be planted within some time frame? A quick check of the Scott's Web site shows that some of their products remain active from 4 weeks to 4 months!

You might want to look into an activated charcoal product for use in the affected area. Charcoal locks up many types of chemicals and keeps them from being a problem in your yard.

In any case, yes, you can go back to organic. I would just start using the organic products again and do what you can to build up the health of the soil.
