The June 2002 show was my first one to attend. I had a great time and feel honored to have been there when Howard Garrett was presented with the award you gave to him for his contribution to your show! I brought my fiance and he had a great time as well!

Does anyone know if it is possible to move a large red yucca? I've got one, but would really like to move it to a different flower bed.
By David on Tuesday, May 06, 2003 - 10:29 pm: |
Hi Betty, If the red yucca is the soft leaf kind with the white curly hairs on the leaves???? I would move it as quick as you can now....I would dig as much of the root ball as possible...Be sure and dig it and plant it all in the same day...I would not wait much longer. If you do, it might have to be a October project.....Good luck....

David, Yes, it has the white curly hairs on the leaves, but it's probably 10 years old. After looking at it last night, I think it's better to leave it where it is. It's got 5 or 6 blooms on it now. I think I'll just find something else to put in the spot.
Thanks
By David on Wednesday, May 07, 2003 - 10:29 pm: |
Betty, I think that leaving it there is a great idea. Let us know if we can be of any future help.....Good Luck...

Congratulations on your web site. I saw with interest an article by Anita Gorman one of our wonderful members of the Silver Serenaders of Texas. By the way we have a brand new web site of our own which we would love for your members to check out:

Looking for topics for our garden club here in NE Ohio and wanted to see what you were offering your members, but as of yet have not found that page...The Trumbull County Herb Society meets in Champion, Ohio. We belong to the Ohio Garden Forum,Garden Clubs of Ohio & the National Garden Club. Hopefully we will be hosting Susan Wittig Albert next April during her book tour for her new
book Dead Mans' Bones. As Program Chairman, I want to invite interesting and stimulating speakers to raise our members interest in new and exciting areas of gardening, cooking and use of herbs in day to day life. Any suggestions? What topic would you like to more about?

Loved the Cooties article about head lice! As a mother of two with 'cooties', I've learned from our pediatrician that wetting the hair with vinegar after the olive oil and shampoo treatment helps immensely in drying out and cracking up any viable eggs left behind! Apply to dry hair, wetting the entire head and allow to remain for 20 minutes and you will find the eggs will comb out more easily.
