Front Street Festival & Knapp Heritage Park Dedication, Arlington, TX

Join AOGC as we participate Saturday, September 25, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm as the Arlington Historical Society dedicates Knapp Heritage Park, including log cabins from early residents of Arlington. Several events are planned. There will be artisan demonstrations, festival vendors, food vendors, and live entertainment.

New Gourd Club for Arlington

A group of interested "gourders" are forming the Arlington Gourd Patch. Meetings will be held the third Sunday of each month, except December. This club is dedicated to the "Whole Gourd", from how to grow gourds through crafting them. Instructional tecniques classes will be scheduled as the club expands, based on members' requests. A gourd-related program and/or demonstration will be presented at each meeting.
First meeting will be Sunday, September 19, 2004, 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., at the Fielder House Museum, 1616 West Abram Street, Arlington, Texas. Refreshments will be provided.
Agenda for the first meeting includes membership information, Raffle items, Show-and-Tell area, and Make It and Take It project.

Visit the Children's Discovery Garden while at the Fielder Museum, tended in part by AOGC.

September Meeting -- Sept. 30

September's speaker will be Kelly McGonigle, president of Nature's Touch Landscape Design. Mr. McGonigle will speak
about backyard water gardening.

We are also planning a plant swap and ice cream social at 7 pm. Ice cream and sundae toppings will be provided by the club:

Doors open at 7, and the meeting will begin at 7:30. See you there!
